Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play
Log it at 3 a.m., one-handed.
Bes is a baby journal that works the way a tired parent actually uses a phone: one tap, one hand, in the dark. Feeds, sleep, nappies, growth, solid foods, vaccinations and health, all in one place.
No account, no sign-up
Open Bes and start logging. No sign-up, no email, no waiting. Everything stays in the app's own storage on your phone, and Bes stays fully usable that way.
Sign in when you want a shared family journal. Create a family, pass round an invite code, and both parents, a grandparent and a nanny all write into the same one. There is no extra seat to pay for.
What you can keep track of
- Feeds — bottle, nursing, pumping, and what was in the bottle
- Sleep, with a running timer
- Nappies
- Growth — weight, height, head, against WHO standards
- Solid foods and reactions to them
- Developmental milestones
- Vaccinations, with country schedules
- Illnesses, temperatures and medicine doses
- Photos and notes
Made for 3 a.m.
After dark the whole app dims to amber and drops the blue light. Buttons get bigger, because hands are less accurate at 3 a.m. Reminders know the difference between a nap and a night feed.
A home screen widget handles the rest: tap once to log a feed, a nappy or a nap, and it is written down without Bes ever coming to the foreground.
Growth against WHO bands
Weight, height and head circumference plotted against WHO reference bands, so you can see where your child sits rather than guess. Corrected age is handled for babies born early.
For an appointment, export a PDF report of feeds, growth, illnesses and medicines — or a CSV of everything you have ever logged.
Illnesses, temperatures, doses
Record a temperature, a medicine and its dose, symptoms and notes. When a fever runs over several days, the record is the thing you will want in front of you at the clinic.
Grandparent mode strips the screen back to three big buttons, so you can hand over the phone without a tutorial.
45 languages
Bes follows your phone's language, and you can override it. Vietnamese, Hindi, Bengali, Malay, Filipino, Persian and Urdu are all first-class.
Where the numbers come from
Growth charts plot against WHO reference bands. Guidance in the app is sourced from WHO, AAP and CDC, and each piece is labelled with its source so you can check it.
Nothing leaves your phone until you sign in. Bes carries no analytics and no crash reporting — there is no telemetry in the app at all. It does show a banner, and every ad request is non-personalised: nothing you have recorded is used to choose it. What syncing involves is set out in full on the privacy page.
Bes is a journal, not a medical device
Bes records and organises information; it does not diagnose. If you are worried about your child's health, speak to your paediatrician — what the journal does is let you give them accurate detail. Bes is used by parents and carers writing about a child, and is not directed at children.
