Reporting a bug
If something breaks or looks wrong, three details make it far quicker for us to find the cause:
- What you were doing when it broke — as specific as you can, e.g. "tapped save after logging a feed".
- Which device, and which OS version — on iPhone, Settings › General › About; on Android, Settings › About phone.
- A screenshot, if you can take one.
If it involves your child's data, don't send a screenshot with anything you would rather not share — describing it in words is plenty.
Common questions
Do I need an account to use Bes?
No. Bes works fully offline, with no account, for as long as you like — no sign-up, no email. Signing in is optional and does one thing: it lets several people write into the same journal.
Can my partner and my mother use the same journal?
Yes, and it is free — there is no extra seat to pay for. Sign in, create a family, and share the invite code. Both parents, a grandparent and a nanny can all write into the same journal. Everyone sees the same entries.
There is also a grandparent mode if you would rather just hand over the phone: three big buttons and nothing else.
Is my child's data safe?
Nothing leaves your phone until you choose to sign in. If you do, your journal is stored on Supabase servers in Singapore, protected by row-level security so a request can only read rows belonging to your own family.
Bes has no analytics and no crash reporting, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone. It shows a banner, but every ad request is non-personalised — nothing you record in Bes is used to choose it. The full detail is on the privacy page.
I'm switching phones. Does my data come with me?
If you have signed in, yes — sign in on the new phone and your family's journal syncs down.
If you have never signed in, the journal lives only on that phone. Before you switch, either sign in so it syncs, or take a copy with Settings → Export data, which writes a CSV of everything.
Can I get something to show the doctor?
Yes. Bes exports a PDF report of feeds, growth, illnesses and medicines for an appointment, and a CSV of everything you have ever logged.
If you export the report in Japanese, Korean or Chinese, the app asks permission first and then downloads a font it needs from a public CDN.
How do I delete my account and my data?
In the app: Settings → Family & sync → Delete account. If you are the last member of your family, the journal on our servers is deleted with the account. If others remain, the shared journal stays with them — it is theirs too.
You can also email admin@miqsoft.com from the address you signed in with; we delete the account within 30 days and confirm when it is done. The copy on your own phone is removed by uninstalling the app.
Does Bes cost anything? Are there ads?
Bes is free, and it carries a banner. Every ad request is non-personalised, so nothing you have recorded in Bes is used to choose what you see.
Ads never appear in the illness and medicine section, in simple mode, or at night (22:00–06:00).
There are no in-app purchases at launch. A paid tier that removes ads altogether is built into the app and will open when purchases do.
Can the numbers in Bes replace what my doctor says?
No. Bes is a journal, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose anything. Growth charts show WHO reference bands and nothing more; the guidance is sourced from WHO, AAP and CDC and labelled as such.
If you are worried about your child's health, speak to your paediatrician — what the journal can do is help you recall the details accurately at the appointment.
Which languages does Bes support?
46, including Vietnamese, Hindi, Bengali, Malay, Filipino, Persian and Urdu. Bes follows your phone's language, and you can override it in Settings.
